COUVENT ROUGE was established in 2010 in Deir El Ahmar to produce wine, as a viable alternative to illicit crops, complementing the “Coteaux d’Héliopolis” cooperative for vine grapes, established in 1999.
COUVENT ROUGE strives to transform Deir El Ahmar into a vine growing village, and to maintain the village’s families in their hometown through buying their harvest at a Fair price.
COUVENT ROUGE's mission is to put Lebanon on the map of the wine producing countries, reviving what this side of the world used to produce best during the Roman Empire.
COUVENT ROUGE is a young and modern winery, producing a full range of wines, from entry level affordable wines to high-end oak aged refined wines.
COUVENT ROUGE has an actual production of 100,000 btls/year, with a capacity of 500,000 btls/year to be reached upon demand, since the winery can rely on the cooperative’s 240Ha of noble vines.
COUVENT ROUGE has official partnerships with the cooperative, “Les Coteaux d’Héliopolis” and FTTL FairTrade and Tourism Lebanon.
